Chuck Liddell to Headline UFC 88 – Bet at Bodog Fight

June 13th, 2008

It looks like Chuck Liddell will headline UFC 88 in Atlanta, GA this September. Speculation has it that he will be fighting Rashad Evans in the light heavyweight match. This should be a great fight and a chance for Rashad Evans to really make a name for himself in UFC and put himself in contention for the light heavyweight title. However, it will be hard for him beat Chuck “Iceman” Liddell and a win for Liddell, would be him in position to fight for the title. You will be able to bet on this fight and all the other UFC Fight at Bodog Fight.

UFC Fighting is AWESOME!!!

April 22nd, 2008

I think Georges St. Pierre just put Serra on the mat again! What a showing by Georges St. Pierre at UFC 83 was. Georges St. Pierre put Matt Serra on his back just 6 seconds into the fight. The fight only lasted 1.5 rounds and Matt Serra didn’t even have a fighting chance in this one. It was obvious that all the trash talking by Serra leading up to the fight just made Georges St. Pierre angry and wanting to dominate this poker fight even more. He had Serra calling him the best in the world by the end of the fight and he just might be. Serra is the latest of very good fighters to just get manhandled by St. Pierre. Georges St. Pierre is now the undisputed welterweight champion and rumors are that his next fight will be against top contender Jon Fitch.

UFC 76 Observations and Analysis

September 25th, 2007

For those who watched UFC 76 on Saturday night, you realized that the Light Heavyweight Division is changed for good. What I witnessed was a Chuck Liddell that is showing his age. He was slow, looked timid, and had no power behind his punches. He did not even try and kick Jardine at all either. I will say that Jardine is no slouch, but this was the same man that lost in less than one minute to up and comer Houston Alexander via KO. Chuck is done and should definitely consider retiring or he will tarnish his legacy with a few more embarrassing losses. He was POUNDED over and over in the legs and ribs via Jardine’s right leg kicks. It was almost hard to watch by the end as Chucks rib area looked like a raw piece of flesh. Chuck is one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time and a future hall of famer. With that being said, the time to retire is NOW. The only person in the building that night more disappointed that Chuck was Wanderlei Silva, who was slated to finally face off against The Iceman in December in what would have been the biggest UFC event ever. That would have occurred IF Chuck won the fight against Jardine. Perhaps it is for the best, because I think after seeing Chuck the last two fights, Silva would destroy Chuck and make him look even more like a washed up tomato can.

On another note, the biggest disappointment of the night was the showing, or lack thereof, by Mauricio Shogun Rua. He looked way out of shape and undersized against Forest Griffin. I am not taking anything away from Forest, but this was SUPPOSED to be a warm-up fight for Shogun before he fought Rampage Jackson for the title, a man he KO’d in PRIDE. Well, I bet Shogun is glad he did not face Rampage at UFC 76 because it would have been UGLY and possibly ended with a serious injury. Shogun could barely stand after the second round. Griffin just dominated him after the first round, something I thought I would never see. Shogun needs to train harder and take the UFC more serious, as he is clearly not good enough to just win by showing up, even against a B-level fighter like Forest.

I want to see Houston Alexander fight Wanderlei Silva with the winner getting a title shot against Rampage. A match-up b/w Alexander and Silva would be an amazing fight with a KO finish most likely.
